Tom Brady is touring Asia this month and after making a stop in China, where he decided he wants to play an NFL game, he’s now in Japan.

It’s unclear whether Brady wants to bring football to Japan too, or whether he’s just going to leave the NFL to try his hand at a new sport. That’s how it looked when Brady took some time out of his trip to try sumo wrestling and train with ozeki Goeido.

Goeido was apparently impressed.

Goeido, the 31-year-old winner of last September’s Autumn Grand Sumo Tournament, said of the NFL superstar, “He has a lot of explosive power. I feel energized. It’s stimulating to have an opportunity to come in contact with athletes from a different sport.”

Sakaigawa said Brady was a man of “great presence” but was also “humble” and asked many questions about sumo.

Luckily, there’s video of Brady versus Sumo!

Any chance getting in the ring with a sumo wrestler was Bill Belichick-approved? If so, maybe we’ll see some sumo in Foxborough during New England Patriots training camp. Probably more expensive than blocking sleds, though.

Brady also brought his son to the workout, as he showed on Instagram.

“For them to welcome me means very much to me. It’s hard to describe in words how special that was,” Brady told Kyodo News.

Brady has three more seasons left on his contract with the Patriots. He’ll be 42 when that deal runs out. If he’s too old for the NFL, maybe he can give sumo a try after football. Gisele would surely be thrilled.
