Typically, a player must wait at least four years following his retirement from the NFL in order to be eligible to be inducted into the New England Patriots Hall of Fame. But it appears that Tom Brady will be an exception to that rule thanks to everything he accomplished during his time with the team.
On Sunday afternoon, the New England Patriots honored Tom Brady with a ceremony before the game where team owner Robert Kraft made a pretty big announcement, revealing that he will be waiving the standard four-year waiting period for team Hall of Famers. Instead, the team will be inducting Brady into the New England Patriots Hall of Fame next year.
“I’m gonna waive the four-year wait period and place Tom Brady in the Patriots Hall of Fame next spring,” Kraft announced.
As Kraft notes, this will be the first time the team has ever done such a thing for a player, and it led to plenty of reactions on social media as a result.
After Brady led the team to six Super Bowl titles throughout his time in New England, it makes sense that the team would be willing to make an exception for the legendary quarterback.
