As the Dallas Cowboys are preparing to take on Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Wild Card round of the playoffs, history is not on their side as Brady is a perfect 7-0 against the Cowboys. But Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones is downplaying the impact that will have on the game.
During a press conference this week, Jerry Jones acknowledged that Tom Brady is “a factor” but believes that they could force him to play poorly enough that the Bucs could “get their tails beat.”
“Well, we’re at their home. Brady is a factor, but you know when you really think about it, we’re not playing Brady,” Jones said according to the Dallas Morning News. “We’re playing Tampa Bay, the team. And it’s conceivable that we could make Brady not play well and get their tails beat by the rest of the team.”
Still, Jones did acknowledge Brady’s dominance against his team and expressed that it gives his team a challenge heading into the playoff showdown.
“This Brady thing has got to be sensitive,” Jones said. “I know it’s there, and I respect that. Gives us a challenge to do something we haven’t done before and that’s beat Tom Brady.”
