Tom Brady played big brother to several rookie quarterbacks at a luncheon hosted by ex-Philadelphia 76ers owner Michael Rubin.
Rubin hosted Brady and rapper Travis Scott, along with QBs Will Levis, Bryce Young, Anthony Richardson, and CJ Stroud at his Los Angeles home.
The topics ranged from making mistakes to having the right people surrounding you.
Brady talked about his experience as an NFL quarterback and what kept him in the league so long. He also encouraged the rookies not to get discouraged when the chips are down and how to face adversity.
“I just outlasted everybody,” Brady said (via TMZ Sports). “There’s another me back there. So how do I keep my edge on everybody? I had to keep working. I didn’t go, ‘Hey, I’m good. I won three Super Bowls.'”
Rubin talked about not letting mistakes define you and how to bounce back from them.
“Every day we’re screwing things up,” Rubin said. “We’ve just got to get a lot more right than wrong and keep learning from it … The tougher **** gets, the more focused I am.
And Scott talked about having the right people in your camp that will hold you accountable for your actions, but also them having your back.
That sounds like good advice to pass along. Maybe the three can talk to Ja Morant next.
