Tennessee Titans wide receiver A.J. Brown put together a tremendous 2020 season in year two of his NFL career, catching 70 passes for 1,075 yards (15.4 AVG) and 11 touchdowns. He was selected to his first Pro Bowl. That’s a highly impressive season, and it’s even more impressive after what he said on Tuesday.
Brown was live on Instagram on Tuesday from a hospital, and said that he had surgery on both knees. He added, “They told me I was done for the year in Week 2… I played all year. And I’m making the Pro Bowl.”
So, that’s pretty amazing. Brown didn’t play in Weeks 2 and 3 due to what was referred to as a “bone bruise” in his knee. It turns out he had injuries to both knees, and concerning enough to cause surgery after the season.
It will be interesting to see what specific surgery Brown had and if it will impact his status ahead of the 2021 season. And if he’s healthy, imagine how good he may look after how productive he was at well less than 100% in 2020? He’s a beast.
UPDATE: NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported that Brown “had a cleanup on both knees,” but it’s “nothing that should affect him for 2021.”
