The Tennesee Titans have question marks to sort out after a 3-14 season that saw them earn the rights to the first overall pick in the upcoming NFL draft. While the Titans are hopeful to get things turned around as quickly as possible, it’s doubtful that they’ll be in a position to compete for championships next season.

Knowing this, it appears that the team is going to trade away one of its key contributors, according to one prominent league insider.

“Titans have granted permission to former Pro-Bowl LB Harold Landry to seek a trade, per sources. Landry started all 17 games last season, finishing with 71 tackles, nine sacks, 18 pressures and four pass deflections. The 28-year-old Landry has 31.5 sacks in the last three seasons he has played, and is due a $17.5 million base salary this season,” reported ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Wednesday.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.

“He will go to the Bengals and then come back next year and have 14 sacks against the Titans and then the Bengals will win the Super Bowl,” one fan predicted on Twitter.

“Decent sized domino falling in the #1 Overall Pick discussion Titans defensive needs just ballooned before our eyes,” another fan added.

“To me this is a never ending battle with the Titans. Get a player and stay with organization for years and then they trade him for ‘underperformance’ when in reality there is no talent around him,” someone else added.

It’ll be interesting to see where Landry lands.
