NFL quarterback Kenny Pickett is looking to salvage a career as an NFL starter. Pickett was traded to the Cleveland Browns this offseason after starting his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers and a brief stint with the Philadelphia Eagles that saw him win a Super Bowl ring as the backup to Jalen Hurts.

Pickett is now in an open competition with veteran Joe Flacco and rookies Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders for the Browns’ job. One FOX sports NFL analyst clearly thinks Pickett has what it takes to be a starter, and doesn’t believe that his failures in Pittsburgh are his fault.

“They didn’t even do anything to build around him,” Terry Bradshaw said, a legendary Steelers quarterback himself.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.

“He came into a great situation that he couldn’t muster anything up with. They were going to give him a chance, and he tucked his tail and ran. Now, let’s stop talking about a career backup and move forward with the organization. Thanks,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“They signed both seumalo and James Daniels to protect him, drafted Broderick jones, and had Pickens, Johnson, Muth and a good rb duo. The kid constantly rolled out towards blitzes, missed wide open receivers, he just sucks,” another fan added.

“He had 6 tds and 6 ints in 2 years lol. Sam Howell arguably had a worse situation and still had 23 tds and 23 ints in 1 season. Nobody says anything about Howell being moved around but yet Kenny should be praised for what reason? He was injury prone and under performed,” added someone else.

It’ll be interesting to see if Pickett can win the job in Cleveland.
