The Tennessee Titans selected Cam Ward out of the University of Miami with the first overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft. The incumbent starter, Will Levis, elected earlier this offseason to undergo season-ending shoulder surgery, paving the way for Ward to take the stage as the starter.
Behind Ward, there’s a lot less certainty about who will back up Ward. On Monday, the Titans made the decision to lose one quarterback and replace him with another, according to one prominent team insider.
“(The Titans) have signed QB Trevor Siemian and waived QB Tim Boyle. Also, center Lloyd Cushenberry has passed his physical and is being activated from PUP,” reported Jim Wyatt on Twitter.
Fans reacted to the move on social media.
“Genuinely insane how people keep paying Tim Boyle to be a professional athlete,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Trevor Siemian’s on-field value helping evaluate the rest of the roster in camp must outweigh what Boyle offers in the meeting room. There’s still a decent chance this team opens the season with a post-camp waiver addition at QB w/Ward and Allen too,” another friend added.
“And Kaepernick is still unsigned smh,” someone else added.
It’ll be interesting to see which quarterbacks the Titans have on the roster when Week One arrives.
