The Tennessee Titans are hoping to turn things around after a disastrous season that ended with the Titans securing the rights to the number one overall pick in the draft.

Part of getting the train back on the tracks is about making the necessary tweaks to the roster that will get the team back in contention. While that will inevitably include additions to the roster via the draft and free agency, it also means cutting players who are currently on the roster.

One such cut was made on Friday, according to one prominent league insider.

“Titans are releasing pass rusher Harold Landry III, per source,” reported ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.

“Another team paying for past production and now cleaning up the mess,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“RELEASING? WE COULDN’T EVEN TRY FOR A TRADE??” one Titans fan wrote increduously.

Tremendous work ethic. Great guy. Burst hasn’t been same since ACL two years ago. Doesn’t change #Titans’ priorities. They already needed two pass rushers, even if he was around,” one fan added.

“Whatever team he joins, he’s instantly getting like a +5 to his Madden rating just for leaving the Titans,” someone else joked.

It’ll be interesting to see where Landry III ends up
