This has been an extremely active offseason for the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers signed four-time MVP Aaron Rodgers and also traded away multiple stars, while acquiring new ones via the trade market, including cornerback Jalen Ramsey.
Now, Ramsey has had a few training camp practices with his new teammates, and the Steelers’ leaders on the field aren’t holding back in their assessment of what they’ve seen so far.
“With Jalen, it’s not just what he does when the play is snapped, it’s what he’s doing before the play,” Cam Heyward said. “His disguise, his level of professionalism is just on display for everybody. That first pick Aaron [Rodgers] threw to Patrick Queen, that was because of Jalen. I’m excited to see what he’s going to do this year.”
T.J. Watt was also high on his praise of Ramsey.
“He’s a Swiss Army knife of our defense right now, you’re going to see him playing every position. Anytime those guys lock down for an extra half a second, we love it because it allows us to get to the quarterback.”
Fans reacted to the statements on social media.
“Trying not to over react but we might be the greatest defense ever,” one Steelers fan wrote on Twitter.
“Wow. I sure am excited to see this team play!” another Steelers fan wrote.
It’ll be interesting to see if Ramsey has the impact the Steelers envisioned when they traded for him.
