The Pittsburgh Steelers pulled out all of the stops this season in pursuit of a playoff win this year in a busy offseason that culminated with the signing of four-time MVP Aaron Rodgers and making star pass rusher T.J. Watt the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history.
However, just like every season, the last teams standing this year will need to have some good fortune on the injury front. Unfortunately, some devastating injury news has just been confirmed, with the season only weeks away, according to one prominent team insider.
“Steelers LS Christian Kuntz’ injury is his sternum. It is believed to be broken, according to a source. That would keep him out for several weeks to months,” reported Mark Kaboly on the Pat McAfee Show.
Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“Man it just didn’t even seem necessary to have him out there,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“That’s gotta be such a (brutal) injury. Anything chest related sucks. Broken has to be hell,” someone else added.
“Oh geez! That’s gotta be really painful. Don’t know why, but I always get a cough with that sort of injury. Makes things much worse,” another fan added.
Pittsburgh losing such a critical piece to the success of their special teams for an extended period of time is brutal with the regular season so close.
