Seattle Seahawks star Jamal Adams apologized for his actions in the team’s Monday Night Football win against the New York Giants.
Adams, who took a knee to the head on a play early in the game, went to be evaluated for a concussion.
The broadcast then showed him arguing with the independent concussion doctor who had just ruled him out for the rest of the game.
Adams posted a profuse apology Wednesday on X (formerly Twitter).
“First and foremost, I want to apologize to the OG. You did everything right when you realized I was concussed, I apologize for any negative energy I brought your way,” Adams posted.
“Watching the replay, I am thankful for your patience knowing I wasn’t myself in that moment. You’re a real one and you serve a great purpose that benefits the NFL and so many players. Prioritizing player’s health is essential. Much respect to you!”
Adams was making his season debut. The three-time All-Pro missed all but one game in 2022 with a torn quadriceps.
The veteran safety could still face discipline from the NFL, but it’s a sticky situation for the league. Fining him for his outburst, coming just after he had been diagnosed with head trauma, is a bad look.
