NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said Wednesday that team owners have been briefed on the results of the Congressional investigation into embattled Washington Commanders owner Dan Snyder.

But when a reporter asked him about his expectations on Snyder selling the Commanders, he had an interesting response.

“I don’t have any expectations on that,” Goodell said (via The Washington Post). “Dan [Snyder]’s statement that he put out was that he was exploring that and we’ll continue to work with him on that.”

Goodell said that owners did not discuss the topic of the Commanders’ sale at the league meeting in Dallas. Wednesday.

On Dec. 8, the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Oversight and Reform released its findings on an investigation into Snyder and the Commanders. The report, shared by 106.7 The Fan, found that “sexual harassment, bullying, and other toxic conduct pervaded the workplace at the Washington Commanders and were perpetuated by a culture of fear instilled” by Snyder.

Goodell said owners were briefed on the report last week. The cloud hanging over Snyder had prompted reports that NFL owners might vote at some point to force him to sell the team. The Commanders, however, confirmed in early November that the team had hired Bank of America to begin preparing for a sale.

A potential ownership group headed by Amazon owner Jeff Bezos and rapper Jay Z is the current favorite to purchase the team.
