The Washington Redskins’ 17-14 road victory over the Seattle Seahawks Sunday was full of bizarre screwups, including some that stretched the definition of “handoffs” and “throws.” Seahawks’ kicker Blair Walsh missed three first-half field goals, the first time that had been done since 2014, and that was just the start. Here’s one of Walsh’s misses:

Beyond that, there were moments such as this amazing bobbled snap that Washington QB Kirk Cousins then still handed off to avoid being credited with a sack:

That drew plenty of comment:

And that wasn’t the only bizarre play in this one. Consider how Seattle finally took the lead late in this one, then gave up huge passes to Brian Quick and Josh Doctson to set up a Washington touchdown. NBC’s Tony Dungy broke down the defensive failures here:
After that, the Seahawks got the ball with 59 seconds left and tried a drive of their own. They made it to the Washington 38 with the clock running, and snapped the ball with about 15 seconds left, but created a bizarre situation there. Seattle QB Russell Wilson was hit and fell down, and threw the ball off the ground, but apparently after his knee already hit the ground. This was initially ruled an incomplete pass, but the review later changed it to a sack, pushing Seattle thoroughly out of field goal range. However, they had one time for one final Hail Mary, and Wilson got it to Jimmy Graham in the end zone, but Graham couldn’t make the catch:
That’s an appropriate ending to a thoroughly bizarre game.
