After Sunday afternoon’s disappointing loss to the Detroit Lions on Sunday in a game where quarterback Aaron Rodgers struggled, the Green Bay Packers appear to be headed towards some even more bad news on Monday as it looks like star pass rusher Rashan Gary might have suffered a season-ending knee injury.
According to NFL senior reporter Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, the Packers fear that Rashan Gary suffered a torn ACL during Sunday’s loss, but are working to confirm the extent of his injuries.
“Initial belief is #Packers pass rusher Rashan Gary suffered a torn ACL on Sunday vs. Detroit but the player is undergoing MRI to determine full scope of injury, per source. If confirmed, injury would end the season for Gary, who has 6.0 sacks on the year. Team holding out hope,” Fowler said on Twitter.
This would obviously be a massive loss as Gary, who was selected by the team with the No. 12 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, has been one of the team’s best pass rushers. The NFL world had plenty to say about his potential season-ending injury.
The year has been so frustrating for the Packers that reporters are even asking Rodgers if he regrets his decision not to retire in the offseason. This certainly won’t help things for the team.
