The Los Angeles Rams have a dynamic veteran duo connecting in quarterback Matthew Stafford and wide receiver Davante Adams. However, as can be the case with veterans, one of the pair is injured at the start of training camp.
Matthew Stafford, who spent the first part of the offseason contemplating departing Los Angeles for greener pastures, is now dealing with back problems, according to one prominent league insider.
“Rams plan to limit Matthew Stafford’s practice time during the first five days of training camp due to his back soreness, Sean McVay told reporters,” reported ESPN’s senior NFL insider Adam Schefter.
Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“Typically not a huge deal with still over a month until NFL Kickoff, but with a 37 year old QB these injuries can linger a bit longer Something to note for now but if it pops back up in a couple weeks,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“The excuses begin! Rams hype this year has been out of control. Can’t wait to watch them be humbled by the entire NFC West, AGAIN!” someone else added.
“Not that Stafford is that injured, but lowkey do find myself considering Stafford’s seemingly yearly injury issues when selecting Adams & Puka. Hefty prices on both of those guys. Puka has his own well documented injury as well. Think there is decently > average risk,” one fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see how the Rams health holds up over the course of the season.
