There have been a lot of rumors and speculation surrounding a shooting incident that took place at Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon’s house last week.
While there was some initial speculation that Mixon might have been involved in the shooting, there’s been no evidence to bear that out.
Now, the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office has named two suspects in the case but neither of those suspects is Joe Mixon.
The sheriff’s department has yet to release the names, but there has been speculation via TMZ that one of the suspects may be Mixon’s sister, Shalonda.
Merlyn Shiverdecker, who is part of Mixon’s representation, said he expects the case to be resolved soon.
“It’s my belief that this thing is probably going to be resolved by this time next week,” Shiverdecker told ESPN.
According to police reports, the incident started when several teenagers were playing a game called “dart wars” near Joe Mixon’s house in Cincinnati on Monday at around 8:25 p.m. The police report continued to say that two of the participants in the game told them one of the other players — a 16-year-old boy — had run alongside his house with a Nerf toy gun when he suddenly came under fire.
The yet-to-be-named suspects reportedly shot 11 rounds at the teenagers, one of whom was struck in the foot.
While some initial speculation targeted Mixon, perhaps in part because of his past history, that doesn’t appear to be the case.
