The Indianapolis Colts got some unfortunate injury news this week when the team announced that running back Jonathan Taylor would miss this week’s game against the Denver Broncos. But the unfortunate injury to the star running back paves the way for veteran running back Phillip Lindsay to have a potential revenge game against his former team.
According to league insider Tom Pelissero of The NFL Network, the Colts are elevating Lindsay from the practice squad and he will take on the Broncos on Sunday.
“The #Colts are elevating RB Phillip Lindsay from the practice squad for tonight’s game against the #Broncos, per source. So with Jonathan Taylor (ankle) out, Lindsay is set to make his Indianapolis debut against his old team in Denver,” Pelissero said in a Tweet.
Obviously, Lindsay’s return sets up a potential revenge game for the veteran running back as he’s making his Colts debut against Denver, where he played from 2018 to 2020. Lindsay signed with the team as an undrafted free agent but had a massive rookie season, finishing the year with 1,278 total yards and earning an invitation to the Pro Bowl.
Thursday night’s game in Denver against his former team should be entertaining, and the NFL world had plenty of reactions to it.
