It was pretty clear that Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith was not 100 percent healthy during last week’s loss to the San Francisco 49ers as he dealt with an elbow injury, but it sounds like the team expects him to be much closer to fully healthy this week.
During his press conference this week, Pete Carroll said that there was a “night and day” difference between how Geno Smith looks this week and how he looked last week with regards to his injury.
“The difference was night and day,” Carroll said according to the Seattle Seahawks team website. “He was out there running practice and putting on a show for us as he does every week throwing the football all over the place. He did that exactly. He was full go the whole time, and that was not the case. We don’t want to make a big deal about it, but it was pretty obvious it was a big difference.”
The team will need him to be at his best this week as they try to stay in playoff contention. With a 6-5 record, the Seahawks will need to finish this season strong if they hope to clinch another postseason berth. That starts this week with a showdown against the Dallas Cowboys.
