The Las Vegas Raiders are entering their first season under head coach Pete Carroll, who already has one Super Bowl under his belt. As he gears up for his first season with the Raiders, Carroll is letting the rest of the league know that he plans on being just as successful in the desert as he was in the Pacific Northwest.
“We’re going to win a ton. We’re going to win a bunch of games,” Carroll said in a video from the Las Vegas Review-Journal. “I can’t even imagine anything [else]. I’ve been winning 10 games a year for 20 years or something, you know? What are my expectations? We’re going to win a bunch. And I don’t care who hears that — it doesn’t matter to me. It ain’t about what anybody hears, it’s about what we do.
“And so, that’s why expectations are really high. The standards need to be so that the expectations can be met. We’ll see what happens. I wish I could guarantee it to you, but I can’t even think of what else it could be but being really successful.”
Fans reacted to Carroll’s statement on social media.
“As a Seahawks fan, Pete doesn’t mess around when it comes to winning,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“I believe it. Good hire here – Raiders needed some good news and the good years that will follow,” someone else added.
“Raiders go to Super Bowl & Pete gets a chance to redeem himself,” another fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see if the Raiders can live up to the sky-high expectations.
