The Las Vegas Raiders have a new head coach in Pete Carroll this season, after the legendary coach had a brief retirement following his tenure with the Seattle Seahawks. Interestingly, the Raiders traded with the Seahawks to acquire quarterback Geno Smith earlier this offseason, reuniting Carroll with the last starting quarterback he coached in the NFL.

However, now Carroll is admitting that all is not well in the quarterback room at the moment, and that the Raiders are looking for a veteran quarterback to add to the roster, per one prominent league insider.

“With QB Aidan O’Connell fracturing his wrist and being sidelined 6-8 weeks, Raiders HC Pete Carroll said the team now is in the market for a backup QB and it is looking for ‘an experienced player who can help us,'” reported ESPN’s senior NFL insider Adam Schefter.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.

“The Raiders should make a trade for Shedeur Sanders. Geno Smith would be the perfect mentor for Shedeur…not to mention Tom Brady’s presence as a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders,” one fan suggested on Twitter.

“Jameis Winston…dude throws picks or long bomb touchdowns so he’s a perfect Raider,” someone else added.

“I assumed the Raiders would draft Shadeur… maybe now is the time,” another fan added.

It’ll be interesting to see where the Raiders go from here.
