The Kansas City Chiefs are on the brink of cementing themselves as arguably the greatest dynasty in the history of the NFL and are showing no signs of slowing down. If Kansas City manages to defeat the Philadelphia Eagles in New Orleans on Sunday, they will be the first team to ever win three consecutive Super Bowls, a doubly impressive feat when you consider even the Brady-Belichick era New England Patriots didn’t manage to win three straight Super Bowls.

At the core of the Chiefs’ unprecedented run has been quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who is chasing Brady to be considered the greatest quarterback of all time. Unfortunately, the Chiefs confirmed on Wednesday that Mahomes is dealing with an injury.

Mahomes appeared on the Chiefs’ Wednesday injury report with an ankle injury, according to Pro Football Talk. The good thing is that Mahomes was still listed as a full practice participant, so he will almost certainly be available to go on Sunday.

However, ankles are sensitive, and the potential of tweaking it will be something the Chiefs have to monitor closely. Then again, it seems as if whenever Mahomes is ‘hurt’ he manages to scamper around and play the best football of his career, something fans have discussed on social media to no end.

It’s wild Mahomes highlights from Super bowl 57 is faking an injury and calling for a holding penalty,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

Mahomes fakes an ankle injury every year,” added someone else.

Things I know will upset me but may happen this Super Bowl: – Pat Mahomes fake injury – Pat Mahomes scramble for first down on 3rd and 4th,” another fan added.

It’ll be interesting to see the level of mobility Mahomes has going into the Super Bowl and if he can maintain it throughout the game.
