Green Bay Packers linebacker Clay Matthews suffered an injury, which is certainly a normal thing when it comes to football players.
What’s not normal, is that the injury came while playing a softball game.
The six-time Pro Bowl selection was drilled right in the face by a line drive, while pitching during a charity softball game in Wisconsin.
We don’t have Statcast data, but there’s definitely some impressive exit velocity on that line drive.
Matthews was taken to the emergency room to get treated for what appears to be a broken nose. The linebacker tweeted he “busted [his] nose pretty good and will have surgery once the swelling subsides.”
