Jordan Love was under center for the Green Bay Packers on Friday as they opened their preseason on the road against the San Francisco 49ers. Love played the entire first half, and judging by his performance, he still has a lot of work to do if he’s going to eventually replace Aaron Rodgers.
It wasn’t all bad for the third-year quarterback. Love threw a pair of touchdowns in the first half. In the first quarter, Love found Romeo Doubs on a fourth down for a 33-yard touchdown pass. Then, just before halftime, Love threw another 33-yard touchdown pass, this time to Danny Davis.
But the three intervening possessions were rough. Every one of them ended with an interception.
Love became the first starting quarterback to throw three interceptions in a preseason game in five years.
And while Love can’t be blamed entirely for all of those picks, he also completed a pass that was a significant misfire and could have just as easily resulted in an interception.
The NFL world had a lot to say about the uneven performance from Green Bay’s presumed quarterback of the future.

It's been a mixed bag for Jordan Love tonight. He has plenty of time to swing it … one way or another.
