Green Bay Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander made headlines on Monday after he talked glowingly of new Packer quarterback Jordan Love.
Alexander declared Love to be the “best QB” in the NFL, ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter tweeted.
Love will have the unenviable task of “replacing” superstar Aaron Rodgers, who the Packers dealt to the New York Jets this off-season. Time is a flat circle, so of course, a superstar quarterback was sent to the Jets in favor of a younger, more promising player. This definitely didn’t just happen with Rodgers and the-now disgraced Brett Favre 15 years ago.
It’s not surprising that Alexander expressed so much confidence in his quarterback. He IS his quarterback, after all. If he didn’t pledge his undying loyalty to Love, it would not only be shocking but also a bigger story.
When he takes the field in Week 1, Love will follow the lineage of QBs the Packers have had since the early 1990s. That is to say that they haven’t had to really worry about the quarterback position for nearly 30 years now. So, Jordan Love will have a lot of pressure on him. But his teammates definitely seem to be ready to be there for him for the ride.
The NFL world reacted to Jaire Alexander and his bold claim about his new QB.
