One Green Bay Packers player apparently learned nothing after Sunday’s all-time gaffe by the New England Patriots.
Defensive back Rasul Douglas intercepted a pass from Baker Mayfield early in the 4th quarter of the Monday Night Football game between the Green Bay Packers and Los Angeles Rams.
And then Douglas pulled a page from Jakobi Meyers’ playbook. Our Awful Announcing Twitter account tweeted a video of the interception from the Manningcast edition of the game.
It’s… it’s something!
“Did no one watch the game yesterday and see that was a BAD idea?” is a great question. Eli Manning certainly asked a great question. In the heat of the moment, anything is possible.
Twitter continued to laugh and roast Douglas for the brutal lateral.
USA TODAY editor Jim Reineking tweeted, “And not the worst lateral this week in the NFL.” Which, well, that’s true.
Eli Berkovits, a Packers podcast host and writer on Fantasy Pros and 247Sports tweeted, “I don’t care that he just got an interception, Rasul Douglas just committed what was possibly the dumbest play I’ve ever seen.”

Podcaster Madi Kroll tweeted a picture that certainly drew some laughs and familiarity with the situation.
Then, sports anchor Matt Reynoldson of WFRV CBS in Green Bay tweeted, “There are really no words.” Well, after this has now happened twice in two days, that’s probably an accurate read of the situation.
The Ringer’s NFL account tweeted, “Jakobi Meyers watching Rasul Douglas try to lateral” with the famed Leo DiCaprio pointing meme.
Packers reporter Ryan Wood then tweeted, “Rasul Douglas must’ve seen Jakobi Meyers’ lateral yesterday. His response: hold my beer.”
