Over the past several NFL seasons, Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. has been one of the most iconic and dominant wide receivers in the game. But it sounds like he will finally be ready to walk away from the league after this upcoming NFL season.
During a recent interview with Dan Pompei of The Athletic, Odell Beckham Jr. announced that he was planning for this upcoming NFL season to be his last in the league.
“I’m thinking like this is my last year,” Beckham said according to Dan Pompei of The Athletic. “I’m going to give it my all this year. And then if something happens after that, we can go from there.”
Beckham even said that he considered retiring after injuring his knee in the Los Angeles Rams Super Bowl victory over the Cincinnati Bengals following the 2021 season, but ultimately he decided to come back one more time.
“I went through a lot the last couple of years, and I thought it was over,” Beckham said. “I didn’t want to get back up on the horse and do the same song and dance all over again.
It’s a major announcement from one of the most iconic players in the league, and the NFL world had plenty to say about it on social media.
