The New York Jets and Odell Beckham Jr. will meet at the start of next week.
According to reports, including from CBS Sports NFL insider Josina Anderson, the team and the Super Bowl LVI Champion receiver plan to convene on Monday.
“I’m told free agent WR Odell Beckham Jr. is planning to fly into the NY-area Sunday to meet with the Jets Monday, per him,” Anderson tweeted.
Anderson’s report was later corroborated and substantiated with additional info.
ESPN Jets reporter Rich Cimini provided further details. “The two sides had been discussing a visit for about 3 weeks,” Cimini revealed. “Presumably, a physical will be part of it. That’s a key, considering his ACL surgeries.”
Cimini continued in a later tweet.
“There’s strong mutual interest,” Cimini tweeted. “Joe Douglas, at the league meetings, called Beckham ‘a unique talent … the more weapons, the better.’ Jets already have Wilson, Lazard, Davis, Hardman at WR.”
Odell and the Jets have been linked together all off-season, much like Green Bay Packers star quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers’ reported “wish list” included the former Pro Bowler, who would return to the Meadowlands by playing for the Jets. The New York Giants drafted Beckham Jr. in the 2014 NFL Draft and exploded on the scene.
So now, all eyes land on Monday for a possible Odell Beckham Jr. resolution.
