Earlier this offseason, the New York Jets gave quarterback Zach Wilson permission to seek a trade away from the team. In in a pretty shocking twist, it sounds like the Jets have actually received offers for Wilson – they just haven’t been willing to accept any of those offers.
“Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the Jets have gotten trade offers for Wilson. But they don’t like the offers they’ve gotten. So they’re waiting for something better,” Florio wrote for Pro Football Talk this week.
“The terms of the offers and the teams that made them aren’t known, for now. It’s believed by some that owner Woody Johnson is the person keeping it from happening.”
Obviously, most people were pretty shocked to hear that the Jets have received multiple trade offers for Wilson after as much as he has struggled during his time in the league, and the news led to a lot of reactions on social media as a result.
Does Woody treat Zach like the son he wished he had or something? #Jets https://t.co/P85Wi1AKjz

I’ve said it a hundred times. JD is not going to take a bad deal. He wants to win every single deal no matter what. They want to ship him off for the right price https://t.co/MSYBey35YT

We’ll have to see whether or not the team is able to find a package that they think is fair for Wilson. If not, there’s a chance he could be back with the Jets for yet another season.
