The NFL is still a business at the end of the day, and a cutthroat one at that, which means that there are always tough roster decisions that have to be made. As the preseason comes to a close, tons of those decisions are being made as teams trim down to their final 53-man roster.

Now, insiders across the league are reporting on which cuts are being made, and naturally, some cuts and releases come as more of a surprise than others. One cut that is sure to raise some eyebrows was reported on Tuesday, per one prominent league insider.

A surprise: The #Giants are cutting TE Greg Dulcich, per source. Still only 25, Dulcich led the NFL in preseason TDs and could be claimed on waivers,” reported NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.

“Dulcich led the entire NFL in preseason TDs… and the Giants still cut him. Makes ZERO sense on the surface. Only explanations: lingering health concerns, scheme fit, or NYG betting on vets over upside. Still—how do you let a guy producing like THAT walk?!” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“Definitely a surprise. Had a really strong preseason, must be a complete liability as a blocker,” someone else added.

“Must be trying to flex Thomas Fidone because they used a 7th rounder on him. Because that’s what’s best for the team ?!?” another person added.

It’ll be interesting to see where Dulich lands now.
