NFL fans across the league were shocked when Pro Football Focus gave Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mitch Trubisky a higher grade than Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
PFF gave Trubisky a grade of 80.3, which was ahead of Mahomes who threw for 235 yards and two touchdowns against the LA Chargers.
Clearly, NFL fans were shocked to see PFF give Trubisky who only threw for 207 yards and no touchdowns against the Cleveland Browns in a loss, get graded higher than Mahomes.
You have to wonder what criteria they use in grading their quarterbacks. One thing is certain, NFL fans questioned what exactly PFF was looking at on Sunday that made them grade Trubisky higher.
They can't be serious giving Mitch a 80.3 that's higher than what Mahomes got in week 1 for a 5 Td 360 yard game

PFF just trying to be edgy to get noticed. Obscure arbitrary ratings.

PFF grade just pretty much said last night Mitch Trubisky played better than Patrick Mahomes in both weeks 1 and 2
I’m weak how flawed that is but swear they’re credible — More Life

Making the situation even funnier is the fact that Mahomes actually made a joke about PFF a few weeks ago after his amazing performance against the Arizona Cardinals where he threw five touchdown passes. Mahomes joked that PFF would probably give him a low grade for his performance.
“I”m sure PFF will have me a low grade for me for that, but I’ll keep it rolling,” Mahomes said.
Maybe PFF should go back to the drawing board when grading quarterbacks because their current system clearly isn’t working as it’s supposed to.
