The Cleveland Browns defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers on Week 3’s Thursday Night Football.
Steelers quarterback Mitch Trubisky, in his third start for the Steelers, registered 20 completions on 32 attempts for 207 yards. He added two rushes for seven yards and one touchdown on the ground. It was part of a dismal offensive showing for the Steelers.
Afterward, many Steelers fans were clamoring for Steelers rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett, a Pitt product, to make the next start. Head coach Mike Tomlin quickly shot down those suggestions.
“I think we just missed on some plays that we could have gone either way, especially in the second half,” Trubisky said in his press conference, according to Pro Football Talk. “Communication is crucial, especially on the sidelines. These next few days, we need to communicate on how we can get better.
“Everyone just needs to be brutally honest with themselves and I think everyone can be a lot better, myself included. We just have to look at that and see where we can improve. We need to stick together. It is only going to get better if we stick together, communicate and talk about our problems. Everyone needs to be willing to fix it.”
The Steelers are next in action on Oct. 2nd when they host the New York Jets.
