Ever since he was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft, Miles Sanders has been the primary running back for the Philadelphia Eagles, but it looks like his time with the team is coming to a close – and he knows it.

This week, the Philadelphia Eagles signed former Seattle Seahawks running back running back Rashaad Penny on a free agent deal. And it seems that Miles Sanders has seen the writing on the wall. Sanders, who is also entering free agency, realizes that the team is extremely unlikely to sign multiple free agent running backs.

Assuming he won’t be back with the team, he posted a heartfelt thank you to the Eagles fanbase.

“To the city of Philadelphia Thank You from the bottom of my heart,” Sanders said in a tweet.

It’s a heartfelt moment from a player who has spent his entire career up to this point with the team, and the NFL world had plenty to say about his message on Twitter.

Sanders will now be seeking a new team as he’s coming off the best year of his career, rushing for 1,200 yards and 11 touchdowns as part of Philadelphia’s Super Bowl run.
