The New England Patriots are in the Mike Vrabel era, as the former linebacker gears up for his first season as the Pats’ head coach. Vrabel spent some of his time as a player in New England, when Bill Belichick was the charge on the East Coast.
Some of Belichick’s no-nonsense attitude rubbed off on Vrabel, which the Patriots’ local media got to experience first time on Tuesday after a reporter asked him a question Vrabel felt that he had already addressed.
“I mean, whether you were in a coma when I answered Tom’s question, or typing on your phone, or tweeting — I don’t know. But I spent 5 minutes answering that question. I could go back through it. But I rather not,” Vrabel responded in frustration.
FNAs reacted to Vrabel on social media.
“finally a coach that’ll put the New England media in their place. This is gonna be so fun to watch,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Joking about someone being in a coma is very distasteful. They are plenty of things he could’ve used besidea that. I can already see he’s not a good fit for the Patriots,” someone else added.
“Every single Patriots fan loved seeing Volin shoved into a locker, someone else added.
It’ll be interesting to see if the local media learn their lesson when it comes to dealing with Vrabel.
