It’s usually seen as a good thing when a quarterback and a wide receiver can get together for some voluntary workouts during the offseason, but it’s not exactly ideal when those workouts lead to injuries. And unfortunately, it sounds like that’s exactly what happened to Cleveland Browns wide receiver Michael Woods II.

According to a report from Josina Anderson of CBS Sports, Michael Woods is feared to have suffered a season-ending injury during an offseason workout with quarterback Deshaun Watson.

“I’m told the #Browns have concern that WR Michael Woods II may have torn his Achilles while working out with QB Deshaun Watson in Texas, per league sources. Tests are being reviewed for the official diagnosis,” Anderson said in a tweet on Tuesday morning.

Obviously, this would be horrible news for the Cleveland Browns as they head into the first full season with Deshaun Watson as the team’s quarterback.

Woods may not have been one of the Browns’ top receivers for the majority of the season after he joined the team as a sixth-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, but he played extensively during the final few games of the season, appearing in the Browns’ final five games of the season.

He appeared to have a bright future ahead of him and this is certainly a setback.
