Oakland Raiders running back Marshawn Lynch sat on the bench during the national anthem before team’s preseason opener against the Detroit Lions on Friday night at Oakland Alameda Coliseum.
This comes after President Trump took to Twitter on Friday morning to blast NFL players for not standing during the anthem in Thursday night’s preseason games.
Lynch sat out the national anthem all of last season as well. Well, except when he stood for the Mexican national anthem during the Raiders-Patriots game in Mexico City, and that one drew a tweet from Trump last November.
As for the football game, Lynch ran for a 60-yard touchdown that was called back for holding, but it showed that the 32-year-old may still have enough burst and speed to be an effective running back.
I guess my life as a Raider just went on pause for another season or untill BUST MODE has a season ending injury.
Coach Gruden, show us that you are the man and do the right thing. Make him honor America or cut him. PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!
