The Buffalo Bills looked about as bad as you possibly can in a win on Sunday night, barely hanging on against the New York Giants in a game where the Bills’ offense struggled heavily. Just one day after that game, the team made a major move for free agent running back Leonard Fournette.
Fournette was surprisingly not signed to a team this offseason after parting ways with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, whom he had been with for three seasons.
The Bills offense is clearly missing something, and they may be looking for that missing piece in Leonard Fournette. According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, Fournette will be visiting with the Bills on Tuesday.
Fournette has reportedly received interest from several teams, but this is the first visit that he has gone on this season.
The Bills rushing attack has been fine this season, ranking 13th in the NFL in rushing yards per game. That being said, Fournette could bring some value to an offense looking for answers.
Fans took notice of this news and offered their opinion of Fournette potentially signing with the Bills.
A pretty lengthy injury history comes with Fournette but has shown to be relatively durable in recent seasons.
I’d assume a practice squad spot in in the works. #Bills https://t.co/C54JE3pnnl

The Leonard Fournette “hey remember me????” tour begins in Buffalo.
I’d be shocked if this isn’t a ploy by his agent to get other teams more interested, though. https://t.co/qSKkviUJeV

Even if Fournette doesn’t end up starting in Buffalo, he provides some experience that is otherwise absent in this offense currently. Fournette notably played a big role in the Buccaneers’ Super Bowl run in 2021, which earned him the nickname “Playoff Lenny.”
It obviously isn’t a done deal at this point, as the Bills will presumably evaluate how Fournette looks from his time away from the football field on Tuesday. But star quarterback Josh Allen could have another dynamic weapon in their offense very soon.
