Wednesday marks the 45th birthday of Tom Brady. As most remember, Brady had retired briefly earlier this year but decided to return to the NFL two months later, becoming the oldest player in the league.
To celebrate Brady’s birthday, and the regular references to him as the “Greatest Of All Time,” Bucs’ running back Leonard Fournette got him a cake that looks like a goat.
Fournette joked that he knows the 45-year-old probably won’t eat the cake.
“With him, his diet is strict … he doesn’t eat sugar,” said Fournette, who had the cake delivered to the Bucs’ AdventHealth Training Center on Tuesday afternoon. The cake, made by Kristina Lavallee at The Cake Girl in Tampa, features a three-dimensional goat head with fondant horns, facial features, and piped icing, with the words “Happy 100th Birthday” written on it. It also has vanilla filling and buttercream icing.
So what else Brady might receive for his birthday? Maybe the day off. According to reports, former Bucs head coach Bruce Arians let Brady have the day off on his special day.
New head coach Todd Bowles hasn’t said if he would do the same this year.
“Everything’s negotiable, but we’ll see,” Bowles said. “We haven’t given anybody else the day off on their birthday. If it falls on that day, so be it.”
He’s Tom Brady, so of course, he’ll probably get the day off.
