While several teams were in trade talks this week, one team that missed out on making a move is the New York Jets. And it sounds like the Las Vegas Raiders may have been in trade talks with the Jets, but those talks broke down – and it sounds like there might be a pretty good reason why.
According to a report from the New York Post, the New York Jets were in talks with the Las Vegas Raiders about potentially acquiring star wide receiver Davante Adams, but that obviously never happened. And according to a recent report from Josina Anderson, one team claims that the Raiders “ghosted” them during trade deadline day as they dealt with several personnel changes, including the firing of head coach Josh McDaniels.
There’s no way of knowing for sure, but there’s a chance the team reaching out to Anderson was the New York Jets.
If the Jets had landed Adams or Evans, it would have been a major get for the team that is struggling on offense. Although the Jets currently sit at 4-3, it’s mainly because of their defense. They could have definitely used the help on offense and Adams reuniting with potentially a returning Aaron Rodgers, may have been icing on the cake.
