The Las Vegas Raiders are looking to turn the corner and get back to being a playoff team in the always tough AFC West, which they have to share with Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Raiders brought in legendary head coach Pete Carroll this offseason to help usher in change and spark the turnaround. Unfortunately, it appears Carroll doesn’t quite have full buy-in from everyone on the roster just yet, according to one prominent league insider.

Raiders WR Jakobi Meyers recently met with team brass and requested to be traded, per me and (Tom Pelissero). The team, citing his value, said they had no plans to do so. Meyers and the team attempted to negotiate a new contract, but could not come to terms,” reported NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Fans reacted to the trade request on social media.

“I’m all for player empowerment but when we got guy like Jakobi Meyers requesting trades…There’s a problem lmao,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“Brock Bowers might go for like 2000 yards the Raiders have like no other targets,” someone else added.

“TBF there’s several wideouts on this team that will need to be paid I don’t think he’s crazy good just bc he doesn’t drop the ball,” one fan added.

It’ll be interesting to see where Meyers lands if the Raiders decide to trade him.
