Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson left Saturday night’s AFC Divisional Round playoff game vs the Buffalo Bills, and has been placed in concussion protocol. The Ravens have announced that he has officially been ruled out for the remainder of the game.
On the final play of the third quarter, Jackson hit his head hard on the turf. He was down on the ground for a while, before jogging to the locker room.

Jackson was replaced by rookie quarterback Tyler Huntley.
Jackson’s exit capped off a brutal final minute of the third quarter for the Ravens, which included Buffalo’s Taron Johnson intercepting a Jackson goal-line pass for a 101-yard pick-six. It went from the Ravens having a chance to tie the game, to the Ravens trailing by two touchdowns and losing their starting quarterback, all within a minute.
But concussions are a very serious matter, of course, and Jackson’s well-being is the main concern now. Hopefully this won’t be a long-term issue for the 2019 NFL MVP.
As for the Bills, they’re looking in good shape to reach their first AFC Championship Game in 27 years.
