Over the past several weeks and months it’s become quite clear that Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson does not see a future with the organization, revealing that he requested a trade from the team last month. But it seems he’s still excited about gaining a new teammate.
On Sunday, the Baltimore Ravens signed Odell Beckham Jr. to a free agent contract, bringing the former all-pro receiver into the Baltimore Ravens offense and giving Lamar Jackson a new weapon in the receiving corps. And even though he’s very publically announced his plans to leave the team, Jackson appears to be happy with the move, posting what appears to be a celebratory photo with Beckham on his Instagram after the news broke.
Even if Jackson does ultimately wish to leave the team, there is still a strong chance that he remains on the Ravens roster for at least one more season as the team has placed a non-exclusive franchise tag on the former MVP quarterback. So there is a good chance Jackson ultimately plays with Beckham this upcoming season.
But perhaps the addition of Beckham will be enough to get Jackson to reconsider his trade request entirely. Only time will tell.
