Los Angeles Rams general manager Les Snead mentioned the franchise’s hope to “engineer a long-term partnership” with running back Kyren Williams back in March. However, to date, no extension has been agreed upon by the two parties.

Rams head coach Sean McVay also touched on how interested the team was in getting a deal worked out, while also acknowledging the financial difficulties involved with the situation.

“We’ll see how far that we have to go with that, but he is a very important part of what we want to be moving forward,” McVay said, according to the LA Times. “He knows how much I love him, and so we’ll see if we can get something done.”

Still, it doesn’t appear that the lack of an agreed-upon extension is something that Williams is overly concerned with at the moment.

“I know with time it’s going to happen. . . . I would love for it to get done so I can take care of my family and the loved ones that helped me get here,” Williams said, per Pro Football Talk.

“I’ve always got trust in God. Whether it happens now or I play out the season, I know it’s going to happen eventually. And so, time will tell. I just know I’ve got to do what I need to do each and every single day to make sure that it does happen in my favor.”

As the situation unfolds, Williams is focusing on doing the work to make sure he’s the best version of himself by the time the season rolls around.

“My only purpose is to continue to get better,” he said, “and finding joy in each and every single day and finding something to get better at.”
