The Cleveland Browns raised eyebrows all over the NFL earlier this offseason when they traded with the Philadelphia Eagles for former Pittsburgh Steeler Kenny Pickket.
Now, Pickett is talking about his expectations heading into the 2025 off-season with his third franchise.
““That’s the plan, man (to start). I’m not going there to hang out,” Pickett said about being the starting quarterback for the Browns, according to Jerry DiPaola of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. “I want to go play. I’m excited, been working hard for it, taking it a day at a time.”
Fans reacted to Pickett’s words on social media.
“They would not have signed Joe Flacco if they were confident in Kenny Pickett… Your Plan and Cleveland’s Plan are not the same!” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“If he didn’t think he could beat out Russell Wilson in Pittsburgh, he sure isn’t beating out Flacco or whoever they draft,” another fan added.
“Tbf his name will fit in perfectly on that infamous jersey with all the failed QB names on it,” one fna added.
“Why do people think he plans on being a backup when he’s young and has a 15-10 record as a starter,” another fan on Twitter wanted to know.
It’ll be interesting to see if Pickett manages to win the starting job for the Browns in training camp.
