Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow is one of the most popular football players in the world.
But apparently, not every famous American is familiar with Burrow just yet.
Singer Kelly Clarkson, speaking during Super Bowl LVII pregame festivities, revealed this week that she thought Burrow was a TikTok rapper when she first saw him.
“During her monologue at the 12th annual NFL Honors,” wrote Dave Clark of cincinnati.com, “host Kelly Clarkson joked that she thought Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow was a TikTok rapper, presumably based on the way he dresses. When she made the joke, a photo of Burrow wearing Sorry in Advance’s pink bear shirt with a pink denim jacket in Kansas City ahead of the AFC championship.”
Clarkson is a noted football fan herself.
“I have never been more nervous in my life than singing the national anthem at the Super Bowl,” she said about her Super Bowl performance in 2012.
Clarkson rose to fame in 2002 by winning American Idol before launching a career in pop rock. Clarkson has sold over 25 million albums and 45 million singles worldwide, according to her Wikipedia page.
Burrow, for his part, is entering his fourth NFL offseason after his Bengals lost to Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC championship.
