It certainly hasn’t been a great offseason for the Kansas City Chiefs as wide receiver Rashee Rice is facing charges related to a street racing incident, offensive linemen Wanya Morris and Chukwuebuka Godrick were arrested on marijuana charges, former cornerback Bashaud Breeland was arrested on drug charges, and kicker Harrison Butker delivered a speech that many considered to be hateful toward the LGBTQ community and misogynistic. And things just got worse for the team.
According to a report from Patch, Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman Isaiah Buggs is facing two misdemeanor charges in Tuscaloosa, Alabama for second-degree cruelty to dogs after he left two dogs with no access to food and water. The report says that both dogs were seized because they were “malnourished, emaciated and neglected” and one of the dogs ultimately had to be euthanized.
Obviously, this arrest follows a pretty horrible pattern of unfortunate news and unsavory headlines for the Chiefs this offseason, and it’s led to a lot of reactions on social media as a result.
The Chiefs are looking to become the first team ever to win three consecutive Super Bowl titles, but distractions like this certainly aren’t going to help them accomplish that goal.
