Running back Nyheim Hines hasn’t been with the Buffalo Bills very long after the team acquired him in a trade from the Indianapolis Colts ahead of the trade deadline, but he’s already turning some heads in just his first practice.
Hines practices with the Buffalo Bills for the first time on Wednesday after the trade and according to star quarterback Josh Allen, he has already impressed both him and star wide receiver Stefon Diggs.
“One play, me and Stef looked at each other like, ‘Holy crap, this guy is fast,’” Allen said, according to Pro Football Talk. “He’s smart, he’s already learning some of the plays and our system is not easy to learn. There’s still a lot of work there, but as far as what he can give this offense, it’s fun to have a piece like that.”
Hines is in his fifth season in the NFL after he was selected in the fourth round by the Colts out of NC State back in 2018. While he plays running back and has a total of 1,205 rushing yards in his NFL career, he is also a threat in the passing game, posting 1,725 receiving yards out of the backfield.
With his versatility, athleticism and speed, he will be an asset to the Bills’ offense – and it sounds like Josh Allen already knows it.
