It seems like every time a new head coaching job opens up in the NFL, two names always pop up: Jim Harbaugh and Jon Gruden. Well, Harbaugh has already profusely insisted he’s staying at Michigan and now Gruden is saying the same, only he’s referring to his gig with ESPN.

Gruden, 53, was previously the head coach of the Oakland Raiders from 1998-2001 and then the head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2002-2008. Gruden was fired by Tampa Bay after the 2008 season and was hired by ESPN in May of 2009.

The former head coach has been an analyst on Monday Night Football since he was hired, but has also been an analyst for college bowl games. Outside of game broadcasts, he does “Jon Gruden’s QB Camp” with NFL QB draft prospects.

Overall Gruden has a great gig at ESPN and doesn’t want to leave it. At least that’s what he told ESPN’s Mike and Mike Wednesday morning.

“I’m very happy doing what I’m doing,” Gruden said. “My full attention and focus is on Cowboys-Lions, I cannot wait for our final Monday night game. There’s a lot of chips on the table. Right now, I have no intentions of coaching. I really enjoy what I’m doing and feel like I’m really close to the fire. I’m getting plenty of satisfaction out of doing what I’m doing.”

Earlier this week, Gruden was linked to the Los Angeles Rams’ head coach vacancy.

The Los Angeles Rams are moving toward a meeting with ESPN analyst Jon Gruden about the team’s head coaching vacancy, multiple sources with knowledge of the Rams’ coaching search have told Yahoo Sports. The sources indicated Gruden has become a focal point on the Rams’ list of candidates, but that other candidates could also come into play – notably Stanford Cardinal head coach David Shaw and New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton.

Now it looks like that report of Gruden being a focal point of LA’s search won’t matter at all. This all means we also get more of this next year!
