The latest piece of news coming out of Johnny Manziel’s life comes in that of the addition of a new agent, according to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports.

Manziel’s previous agent, Erik Burkhardt dropped Manziel as a client back in February, after expressing displeasure and exhaustion in trying to help Manziel make the best career moves.

And that new agent is looking likely to be Drew Rosenhaus.

Rosenhaus is arguably the best known agent in professional football. He has represented numerous clients over the years, and has been known for his loud personality. He seems like a good match for Manziel, or at least experienced in handling a high-profile, controversial player. He has represented the likes of Terrell Owens, and Chad Ochocinco.

Rosenhaus said in a 60 Minutes interview back in 2011 that it’s his job to “keep things moving smoothly.” He said, “When it breaks down between the team and the player, the agent is there to pick up those pieces. If a guy says, ‘I wanna be traded; I hate this team, I hate this coach.’ I say to the player, ‘Tell me, don’t tell the coach. I don’t want you to ruin your relationship with the team. Come to me.”

La Canfora added that teams have not shown interest in Manziel, and won’t, “unless he makes some major life changes and makes real strides towards sobriety.” So until that happens, all the smooth talking from Rosenhaus won’t likely get Manziel on a team anytime soon.
