The Cleveland Browns loaded up at the quarterback position following Deshaun Watson’s setback in his recovery from the Achilles injury that ended his season prematurely last year.

The Browns traded for Kenny Pickett, signed Joe Flacco, and drafted Shedeur Sanders and Dillon Gabriel. Now, the Browns appear to know who will be starting under center when the season starts this fall.

Browns QB Joe Flacco reportedly has the support of Myles Garrett and other veterans who want him to be the week-one starter, per (Mary Kay Cabot)

“The Browns thought Kenny Pickett could take the starting job and have an arc similar to Sam Darnold, but Flacco has proven to be the best “pure thrower” of the ball out of all the Cleveland QBs so far,” reported JPA Football over the weekend.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.

“He should be the starter therefore Kenny Pickett will start week 1,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“It makes sense that he starters. He’s a vet leader who can still perform on the field. Garrett doesn’t want to wait to experience success. Flacco gives the best chance until he shows he can’t,” someone else added.

“Imagine thinking Kenny Pickett was capable of taking the job,” one fan added.

It’ll be interesting to see if either rookie can make a run at the starting job.
